1. Who We Are
RevoVue ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered photography feedback platform. RevoVue is operated by Andreas Stehn, based in Helsingborg, Sweden. For questions about this policy, contact us at revovue@stehn.com.
2. What Data We Collect
We collect the following data when you use RevoVue:
- Account data: Email address, display name, and password (hashed, never stored in plain text)
- Profile data: Avatar, bio, city, country, experience level, photography genres (all optional)
- Photos: Images you upload, including EXIF metadata (camera model, settings, GPS if present in the file)
- AI feedback: Scores, category ratings, and written feedback generated by our AI (Lumin)
- Community activity: Comments, sparks, follows, collections, inspirations, and reports you submit
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, and basic usage data for security and analytics purposes
3. How We Use Your Data
- Provide the RevoVue service — AI photo analysis, community features, and personalization
- Send transactional emails — account verification, password resets (we do not send marketing emails)
- Improve the platform — aggregated, anonymized analytics to understand usage patterns
- Ensure safety — detect abuse, enforce community guidelines, and moderate content
4. AI Processing
When you upload a photo, it is sent to OpenAI's Vision API for analysis. OpenAI processes the image to generate feedback and scores. OpenAI's data usage policy applies to this processing. We do not use your photos to train our own AI models. Your photos are yours.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share data only with:
- OpenAI: Photos are sent for AI analysis (see section 4)
- Other users: Public photos, profile info, comments, and community activity are visible to other logged-in users. Ghost mode hides your activity.
- Law enforcement: Only if legally required
6. Cookies
We use only essential cookies:
- Session cookie (next-auth.session-token) — keeps you logged in. Strictly necessary, no consent required.
- Analytics (if enabled) — we use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personal data.
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking.
7. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on servers in Europe. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Photos are stored on our servers and are not publicly accessible without authentication (except photos you choose to make public). We take reasonable measures to protect your data, but no system is 100% secure.
8. Your Rights (GDPR)
As we are based in the EU, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data (via Settings)
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Export your data (feedback export is available in the app)
- Object to processing
To exercise these rights, email revovue@stehn.com. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Data Retention
We keep your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your data (photos, feedback, comments, profile) is permanently deleted within 30 days. Some anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics.
10. Children
RevoVue is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via the platform. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
